Each Intern will shadow clinicians providing mental health services and substance use disorder services to children, adolescents, and adults. Get exposure of community based practice and substance use disorder practice in the client's home, school, and the juvenile justice center. Receive training from experts in the field, attend team meetings, and participate in supervisions. Responsibilities for Mental Health Therapist

Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment
Gather information about community mental health needs and resources that could be used in conjunction with therapy
Plan outreach and referral activities in surrounding communities
Plan and conduct programs to prevent substance abuse or improve community health and counseling services
Assess clients' mental condition based on review of client information, interviews, observation, tests, and collaboration with other staff members
Serve as a client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations
Develop and implement treatment plans based on DA, clinical experience and knowledge
Conduct initial family assessments and refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary

Qualifications for Mental Health Therapist

Ability to work as a team member and cooperatively
Must be able to work flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends on occasion
Superb organizational skills
Ability to guide, direct, or influence people
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with mentally or emotionally disabled persons and their families

Substance Use Disorder Therapist

Transcend Mental Behavior Group, LLC, is seeking a Intern Substance Use Disorder Therapist with ambition to learn addiction and SUD. This role will consist of running individual counseling and IOP groups, as well as carrying a caseload with SUD, and dual-diagnosed clients. Responsibilities for Substance Use Disorder Therapist

Meets with clients to obtain personal information and medical histories and consults with other professionals to get a clear picture of the patient's status and extent of problems.
Designs a program of treatment and rehabilitation tailored to patient's individual situation based on knowledge of alcohol and drug dependency and counseling and treatment methods.
Uses a combination of individual and group counseling sessions to help clients and observes their attitudes and readiness to accept help and guidance.
Meets with family members to educate them on the roles they can play in the recovery process.
Educates patients about community-based organizations such as Alcoholics Anonymous and social and employment services that may help restore them to productive roles in the community.
Maintains case histories and progress reports. Modifies treatment programs based on observation.
Assists patients with coping with family problems and recommends appropriate social services as support for the entire family unit
